Prism Pulse is an interactive light installation designed to allow two people to connect and share a moment using only the rhythm of their heart beat.

Heart rate sensors at each end of the long rectilinear form trigger a forward projecting streak of prismatic light in-sync with the user’s heartbeat. The prismatic filtered light is refracted and manipulated within the diffusive form using a variety of lenses and cut glass. As the heart rate of the two users become in-sync, an eruption of light envelops the lit surface creating a visual reminder of how simple it is to connect to one another.
